 Bosnia Meeting: Crypto Currency

This week it was Turkish students’ turn to present and some of my friends prepared a presentation on cryptocurrency and the crypto market in general. Crypto had been one of the things I avoided to look into because of the environmental damage it caused. Hence ıt was my first time actually learning about the market and terms. They explained how the investments are made and how they can gain profit out of those investments and they mentioned things like “whales” and how they can affect the market. This new found information made me gain a different perspective on how peoples priorities in life were quite different. Some people in my age were already trying to get more money by making investments and almost gambling without considering the consequences of these actions on their future. The fact that they still saw crypto as the future while people freeze to death because of energy shortage due to crypto mining made me realize how people sometimes only focus on their own gain and lack sympathy for other humans. 

Maybe I’m reading too deep into the situation but their stand on the issue made me concerned about our future.
